VE1JF is located in FN74 at 65.4W,
44.4N. This is on the western
side of
Nova Scotia
. The QTH is on a cliff
overlooking the
Bay of Fundy
from around 200’ above mean sea level, with saltwater to the horizon to
the west. It is just to the
northeast of the harbour entrance to Digby and the
Annapolis
Basin
. It is 10 miles from the site
of the 1605 settlement by French entrepreneur Sieur de Monts, establishing
New France, and is 17 miles from Annapolis Royal, which was
capitol of Nova Scotia from 1710 through 1749.
